Terms & Conditions

  1. Phonetest slots must be booked using the online facility using a pre-registered user account.
  2. All tests must be pre-paid either by credit card online or by invoice.
  3. In the case of corporate customers a legitimate Purchase Order number may be accepted in lieu of payment (subject to status).
  4. Unsecured bookings will not be entered into due to the nature of the service provision and the high cost of recovering money owed.
  5. It is the responsibility of the booking person to ensure the candidate is informed of the test appointment date and time, however Phonetest generates an automatic email to the candidate's email address supplied by the booking person to assist with this.
  6. At the appointed time it is the responsibility of the candidate to call the Phonetest call centre number which is +44 1905 619877.
  7. The call window during which the candidate may call is five minutes either side of the appointment time. A green bar on the candidate's booking screen confirms this period.
  8. If a candidate misses the appointment slot Phonetest will endeavour to carry out the test if there is an assessor available within a period of one hour of the appointed time. If this is not possible the test will be deemed to have been used and the status of the candidate will be shown as 'Closed – Missed slot/candidate didn't call'.
  9. Only exceptional cases will be considered on their own merits for credit. Requests should be made in writing to Phonetest's decision is final and correspondence will not be entered into.
  10. If the booking person wishes to change or cancel a booking this can be done anytime up to a minimum of 24 hours prior to the appointed time. This should be done by clicking "Change a Booked Slot" and following the procedures shown.
  11. Cancellations / Changes made less than 24 hours before the appointed time will not be permitted and will be charged as though taken.
  12. Phonetest reserves the right to change an appointment to a different mutually convenient time if necessary through illness of its staff or other unforeseen circumstances.
  13. In the event of any dispute regarding the result of the test in the first instance the Director of Studies will carry out a review of the original test. If this is inconclusive in its findings Phonetest will carry out a repeat test free of charge.
  14. Phonetest tests are carried out to the highest of professional standards and results are as accurate as is possible within 'human reason', however Phonetest cannot be responsible for any loss, consequential or otherwise, as a result of its assessment of a candidate.
  15. Candidate security: It is the responsibility of the client to ensure that the person taking the Phonetest test is the correct person. This can be done by requiring the candidate(s) to make the calls from the client's office where identity can be verified, or in the event of remote candidates the client can supply Phonetest with personal information known only to the candidate such as names of parents, brothers, sisters, passport number etc. Phonetest make every reasonable effort to check identity during the course of the test against details supplied by the client but, although extremely rare, cannot be held responsible for wilful attempts to defraud the system.
